The Problem:
My roommate, Britt, is an amputee.
He loves to rock climb, but he was frustrated with his prosthetic
leg, which is too heavy for rock climbing and has a flexible carbon-fiber
foot that is not ideal for gripping rock ledges. I decided to
design and build a rock climbing leg to temporarily replace his
current leg for climbing as a ten-week long project for Mechanical
Engineering 203 - Manufacturing and Design.
